The founder of GDA Capital and MLG Blockchain Michael Gord has been appointed to the position of Managing Director of the DigitalBits Foundation, the organization announced today.

The formation of the DigitalBits Foundation will facilitate further development of the DigitalBits ecosystem through both financial and non-financial assistance to qualified entities and projects within the DigitalBits community, with a focus on innovation and accelerated growth, the announcement said.

DigitalBits, a blockchain protocol and network layer designed for consumer digital assets, is being added to the Fireblocks Network, the most secure digital asset transfer network for institutions, to deliver a safe and scalable infrastructure for the storage and movement of XDB tokens. Integrating the DigitalBits blockchain with the Fireblocks Network enables enterprise-level security support for branded cryptocurrencies.

Merchant Bank Global Digital Assets (GDA) is joining the DigitalBits ecosystem, the company announced today. The goal of the partnership is to further enterprise adoption for branded cryptocurrencies. GDA is the first North American merchant bank to focus on blockchain and digital assets. It will provide the infrastructure for consumers, merchants, brands and payment providers to benefit from branded cryptocurrencies, including branded stablecoins.

On April 15, 2020, Kucoin, an IDG-backed global crypto exchange, announced the launch of its Enterprise Currency Desk (ECD). The ECD will function as a turn-key solution for enterprise-grade adopters to easily acquire digital assets and support their respective blockchain use-cases.
DigitalBits will be one of the first blockchain protocols leveraged by Kucoin’s ECD. This is a natural choice with DigitalBits having already taken significant strides towards the development of branded cryptocurrencies and branded stablecoins. KuCoin, a well-known crypto exchange, has partnered with DigitalBits for the development of its enterprise currency desk (ECD).

Announced on Wednesday, the ECD solution is more of a spin-off from the traditional over-the-counter (OTC) desks and will cater to enterprise clients.
